What is the PRINARC?

The Chemical Residues and Contaminants Research and Analysis Program – PRINARC is an academic unit of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the National University of the Litoral. It includes in its structure the Central Laboratory of Analytical Services, the name with which the current PRINARC will operate until 2011.

The laboratories and dependencies of the PRINARC work in the sixth and fifth floors of the building “Horacio Damianovich” of the FIQ-UNL, located in Santiago del Estero 2654 of the city of Santa Fe (Santa Fe Province), Argentina.

Functions

The PRINARC develops activities of Teaching and Scientific Research in the area of waste and chemical contaminants (pesticides, heavy metals, environmental contaminants among others) in food, environment and other matrices in general, as well as the provision of specialized analytical services designed to meet requirements of companies and institutions of the productive environment and society.

Goals

  • Promote the development of theoretical and applied studies in the field of waste and chemical contaminants in food and the environment, chemical sciences, analytical chemistry and related separation sciences.
  • To train highly qualified human resources through participation in undergraduate and postgraduate training and continuous training in specialty subjects.
  • Promote activities of knowledge transfer, technical assistance and services, with a high degree of specialization to the productive environment, institutions and the community in general.
  • Encourage cooperation initiatives with universities, institutes and similar research centers in the country and abroad.
